Hello Friends!
How was your week? I hope you were able to carry out tasks that you have been putting off. I know I was able to tackle a big task of weeding. I think I talk about this quite often, but it is a major part of the flower farm. It is also therapy for me. Not only am I cleaning up the rows, but I am also able to get some aggression and frustration out.
While pulling weeds last week I found some praying mantis that I believe hatched from the egg sacks I put around the garden. We were able to till the walkways and accidently scared away a huge garter snake. These snakes are a gardeners friend as they eat slugs, rodents, and common garden pests.
This week I will have dahlias and lisianthus for sale at the flower stand and the markets we will be attending. These two flowers are so beautiful, and I hope you get a chance to take a bouquet home.
The lisiathus were grown from seed which I started way back at the beginning of the year. Yes, they are slow growing but oh so worth the wait. My succession of sunflowers continues to bloom, and I will be planting more this week.
I have added some dried flowers to the stand and will continue to add more like celosia, which will be so pretty and a great fall color once it is ready to pick.
Thank you for following along on our flower journey. Please pass this along to someone who might enjoy this content. Also, please complete the survey below if you have not had a chance.
Regards,
Tracey Rigney
